ADAM NEATE: A NEW UNDERSTANDING
9 October - 21 November 2009Tuesday - Friday 12 - 6pm, Thursday 12- 8pm, Saturday 12 - 5pm
Adam Neate's eagerly anticipated second solo show, following from his landmark exhibition, PAINTINGS, POTS and PRINTS in 2007 ran between 9th October - 21st November 2009.
Best known for his use of cardboard and aerosol paint, this new series of paintings have taken on a 3D sculptural quality by further incorporating perspex, metal, collage and other sourced objects, demonstrating his innate understanding of composition, perspective and movement whilst still retaining his impeccable line.
By popular demand, Elms Lesters curator Paul Jones conducted a number of guided tours to groups throughout the exhibition
"Thank you for inviting me to your talk last night, which I very much enjoyed. The show looks amazing and it is exciting to see that Adam is taking risks with his work, and to see the excellent conception in the wall sculptural pieces and the steel sculpture in particular "
"I came to the talk last night and just wanted to say a huge thankyou - it was wonderful and I really learnt so much"
"This tour was a gift. Thank you so much; no one does this sort of thing"
Record numbers of visitors came to the gallery during the six week show, many of whom signed our visitors' book. Some of their comments are below...
